The making of south park: 6 Days to Air →
Pretty interesting look behind the scenes of an animated TV show. Craziness.

A Small Day
Didn’t do too much really. A lot of Uncharted 2 which I just started, a little bit of emailing and a whole lot of man, I really should be doing X; X being any of the items on my (currently shrinking, LESS THAN ONE PAGE) to do list.
Tomorrow promises to be full of (attempts at) making this to do list even shorter. And maybe some grocery shopping, which, although not on my to do list, I...
Hater of the Year 2011 →
Here is the video we did to announce Rob’s Hater of the Year (2011 edition). If you like it, make sure to check out more at sonsoftheatom.blogspot.com. If you have no idea what this is, understandable, it’s almost an in joke at the moment.
However! If you don’t like the haters we’ve presented this year, tune in next year and this year, well this year check out our website...

Kim Jong-Il
He’s dead. That’s a fact. Also a fact is that he will make for a fascinating piece of dark history, as an almost unbelievably crazy, scheming person. One such amazing story is that of him kidnapping film makers and making them work for him. Here you go:

We Made It! (But more money still = more...
We made it! We’re going to use these funds for submission entries across the globe, but festivals are extremely expensive and every little bit helps. Let’s keep the push going, thanks everyone!

Louis CK Live at the Beacon Theater →
I haven’t seen this yet, I did just watch the clip, but mostly I’m just happy that:
1. It exists.
This special was funded fully by Louis CK and released by Louis CK. That’s big, that’s a comedian taking the risk to create and release this special himself, promote it himself to his fans, and hope that they don’t just steal it as he assumes all the risk. That’s...

Shot by yours truly, and helmed by Thomas Churchill, here’s a raw trailer for the Cuts. Get ready.

The Cuts Trailer
Enjoy the trailer. This movie has dominated my life for the past 4 months. Everyone worked super hard on this so reblog the hell out of this. My film career may depend on it. -t
Thursday
Woke up from a dream filled with ghosts and unprofessional sets,
up but in bed watching youtube till noon.
Finally got up filled with regret,
no shower time ‘cause I had meetings too soon.
Teeth brushed, arm pits deodorized, I ran from the house
heading to state to turn in submissions
Almost went into the wrong house with my films,
would have led to some awkward conditions.
Luckily...
One of the more gorgeous advertisements I’ve seen. Wonderful.

Only remember ending. I’m on a bus headed to a shoot on a wild west style ranch. I’m with one crew member, but he’s asleep. I’m evidently acting in this (sarcasm) masterpiece. I’ve realized that we clearly don’t have enough time on the ranch to finish the day, and as we show up and have lunch LARGE CHUNKS of the crew are missing. Including the director and AD. I...

A Big (Wednes)Day
Just finished a Cinema Collective Demo hosted by Geoff Norman, an accomplished Gaffer, going over G and E and lighting. I hope people got a lot out of it, could have gone a little smoother, but I think some got through. It was a good end to a full day (including burritos and tortas, muy delicioso).
I also managed to get up 3 new websites for Untitled: The State of Hip Hop in Shanghai:
Our main...

Mourir Aupres de Toi by Spike Jonze
Spike Jonze needs to get a blog of his own. vbs.tv is great, but flooded with content that isn’t made by himself. A friend abroad hooked me up with this video and its a great example of stop-motion storytelling. Without the link I probably would have found this months from now. The credit goes to Spike Jonze and Olympia Le-Tan, an off-the-cuff...
There’s certain professionals who aren’t so much in the spotlight as dance around it, Rob Schrab is someone whose work I started stalking and am always excited to see stuff by. This is a short animatic he did for something that didn’t get picked up. It’s fast and fun, nerdy and not very deep. Has references in it that will make you go, oh. No exclamation point, but still a fun short....
Rap Industry Fan Fiction: Jay-Z and Kanye West... →
I’m happy to know this now exists
rapindustryfanfiction:
Jay-Z and Kanye West had spent their entire careers preparing for this night. Jay-Z could still remember that evening so many years ago when they first approached him. His career taking off and his bank account overflowing, they asked him if he wanted to be a part of something even bigger….
On Barbers and Haircuts
Some you may know that my biggest fear is quite possibly going to get my haircut. I hate it. And it’s not due to any sort of Sweeney Todd style fear, no, it’s the simple terror of sitting there helplessly in a chair while a barber (in san francisco, usually an asian woman who doesn’t speak the same brand of english I do) chops off my hair without me knowing how to instruct them...
On Shorts
When I was younger, I had more respect for shorts. I grew up in San Francisco as an active little kid, going to clown school, running around playing soccer and basketball, reading short stories from Bruce Coville’s “Book of” series (a fine bunch of collections), and watching children’s programs such as Street Sharks, Animaniacs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and All That. The primetime of...
